Report closed cases to Raleigh Central Office weekly

Handle incoming and outgoing record search request, which consist of receiving and giving patient information such as, demographics, lab test, and need for follow-up on all partners and positive laboratory reports. All information is handled in a confidential manner

Responsible for entering all morbidity information received on patients in the North Carolina STD/MIS database system in a timely manner. Attention to detail is given to assure accurate lab data is entered as well as the most current demographics is entered into the database

Initiate field records (paperwork) for field follow-up if deemed necessary.

Record search office files for previous treatment, labs, and locating information before assignment to field staff.

Initiate calls to private medical doctors and health department nurses to confirm treatment, test results, diagnosis, patient locating information, and need for further follow-up. Information is then transcribed on a provider contact sheet and a field record (paperwork) is generated to be given to field staff

Assistant to the Surveillance Coordinator, helping to assure that all incoming laboratory reports are processed according to North Carolina protocol; utilizing the North Carolina reactor grid
as a guide

Organize epidemiological and non-epidemiological office files.

Maintain inventory of brochures, condoms, office supplies, and office equipment

Process request for condoms and brochures to local health departments and private providers

Ability to communicate with diverse individuals of different educational backgrounds

Order office supplies, furniture, and equipment as needed and approved through procurement. Make hotel reservations, book conference rooms, and assist with transportation needs for traveling staff
